The settlement was founded in 997 as a trading post, It was frequently used as the seat of the king, and it served as the capital of Norway during the Viking Age until 1217. Traces from the old ages can be found all over the city and surrounding areas. The most famous and visible crown juvel of our town is the Nidaros Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace witch was completed in year 1300.
